The idea for Mix and Match studio was born from a passion for community upliftment and empowerment. The name Mix and Match refers to the MIX of people from different cultural backgrounds, each joining in the creative mix by adding their own creative flame like a MATCH.

Together we aim to set the local fashion scene ablaze. Mix and Match also aims to unite and collaborate with many local fashion designers. The boutique rents out rail space to various fashion designers and acts as a retailer for products made by in-house trained seamstresses.

A need was identified to train and employ South African people towards the goal of job creation as well as enabling them to generate sustainable income. Mix-and-Match studio was opened in May 2010 with this goal in mind.

Mix and Match studio offers an eclectic mix of different cultures and styles, from ethnic, crafty to edgy, alternative or vintage clothing. The boutique will also incorporate an art gallery and coffee shop in the near future. We have regular events like markets, jazz and blues evenings and art exhibitions.
